“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.” Phil. 4:8-9.

We live in very interesting times. I read up somewhere of a man who was speaking about a website called “Fake Name Generator.” The idea is quite simple. When you need to fill out an online form on the internet, but really don’t want to give your real name, you can get a fake identity by using “Fake Name Generator.”  So, it generates a fake identity for you within minutes. A name and every other information about yourself ranging from date of birth, parents name, occupation, address, email etc. Everything can be generated within a few minutes. So you can successfully be who you are not, within a few minutes. The danger here for the believer is, we are called to operate like Christ is in a very dark age, not to cultivate false identity. It must be our responsibility to cultivate his mind and attitude.

The stability of our christian walk would be largely predicated on our biblical content and our continuity in the thinking pattern cultivated from God's word. It is not only what we think, but what we continue to think that provides stability in our souls. When God’s Word—divine viewpoint—flows through our daily thoughts, it enables us to frame life from a divine perspective and respond properly from a position of strength. The more Christians study, memorize, and apply God’s Word, the greater the benefits they will experience in their walk of faith.

What you focus on is so important to your Christianity. If you focus on the wrong things your mindset would be messed up. Your focus shapes your mental and emotional state. Isaiah wrote, “The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You” Isa 26:3. In times of trouble, you can take refuge in God, for the scripture encourages us to “set our mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth” Col 3:2. If you know and practice these things, you’ll know the peace that comes from the Lord and the walk of faith. Don't just love your mind to wander after every mundane pursuit, your mind must be textured and remodeled through God's word to think God's thoughts, speak God's word and reflect His nature. Christianity would be worth nothing if we don't cultivate Christian mindset governed by God's word.
