“In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John. 14:2-3.

An old man found this preacher and said. I believe you’re going to speak about Heaven next Sunday. I’m interested in that land because I've had a piece of property there for about fifty years. I didn’t buy it, it was given to me without price, but the Donor purchased it for me at a tremendous sacrifice. I’m not holding it to resell; besides, it’s not a vacant lot. For over half a century I’ve been sending materials up to the greatest Architect in the universe, who’s been building a home for me, which will never need re-modelling, because it will suit me perfectly and will never grow old. Termites can never undermine its foundations, for it rests on the Rock of Ages; fires can’t destroy it, floods can’t wash it away; no bolts will ever be placed upon the doors, for no vicious person will ever enter the land where my dwelling stands. It’s almost completed and almost ready for me to enter in and abide in peace eternally without fear of being rejected.

There’s a valley of deep shadow between this place where I live and that to which I shall journey in a short time. I can’t reach my home in that city without passing through this valley. But I’m not afraid because the best friend I ever had went through that same valley long, long ago, and drove away all its gloom. He’s stuck with me through thick and thin since we first became acquainted fifty-five years ago. And I own his promise in printed form, never to forsake me or leave me alone. He will be with me as I walk through the valley of the shadow. And I’ll not lose my way when he’s with me. My ticket to Heaven has no date marked for the journey; I have a one way ticket. I have no return ticket, no permit for baggage. I’m ready to go and I may not be here when you’re preaching next Sunday evening but I’ll meet you there someday.

God is designing and building a glorious city. Rome, Paris, and London cannot compare. The best of Hong Kong, Dubai, and Singapore have nothing on the New Jerusalem. The city will be like a rare jewel, radiant, shining with the glory of God. It will be vast, the likes of which we’ve never seen, over a thousand miles across. Its walls will be made of jasper, and its streets of pure gold. The twelve foundations will be named after the apostles, and its twelve gates guarded by angels. Every choice we make to grow in godliness prepares us for heaven. Our character deeply matters to God and to everyone we lead. Training our bodies has some value, but training in godliness “holds promise for the present life and the life to come.” Now is the time to partner with God in our sanctification. God’s greatest gift to us is himself. Our greatest gift to him is our surrender. No matter what you do, don't miss heaven. Selah!

DECLARATION:

Dear Abba Father, I thank You for the gift of life and the privilege of salvation. Father, please uphold me by Your right hand of righteousness until the end. Holy Spirit, guide me on the narrow path and fill me with the wisdom to walk in Your ways. Let Your grace be upon me to abide in You forever. Help me, Lord, to live with eternity in view, and keep me from the distractions of this world. I'm no doubt grateful about the gift of salvation and trust you to keep me going until that perfect day when I meet You in glory in heaven. Preserve in the faith till then in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
