“But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.” James. 3:14-15.

Two shopkeepers were bitter rivals. Their stores were directly across the street from each other, and they would spend each day keeping track of each other's business. If one got a customer, he would smile in triumph at his rival. One night an angel appeared to one of the shopkeepers in a dream and said, "I will give you anything you ask, but whatever you receive, your competitor will receive twice as much. Would you be rich? You can be very rich, but he will be twice as wealthy. Do you wish to live a long and healthy life? You can, but his life will be longer and healthier. What is your desire?"

The man frowned, thought for a moment, and then said, "Here is my request: Strike me blind in one eye!" Ofcourse, you know the reason for such a request. One sign of jealousy is when it's easier to show sympathy and "weep with those who weep" than it is to exhibit joy and "rejoice with those who rejoice." Jealousy can manifest in various ways. One common sign is increased negativity, such as criticizing or being overly critical of others, especially when they are successful or have something you desire. Also, attempts to control another's behavior, such as excessive checking or questioning, can be indicative of jealousy.

Furthermore, jealousy can involve feelings of insecurity and a tendency to sabotage others or downplay their achievements. Jealousy can have significant negative consequences. It can lead to damaged relationships, mental health issues, and even violent acts. Jealousy can also hinder personal growth and happiness by preventing individuals from trusting in their own abilities and appreciating the blessings they have from God. We are continually warned in the scripture to avoid envy and jealousy because of it's destructive tendency to our faith. May God keep you away from jealousy.

DECLARATION:

Dear Abba Father, I thank You for the gift of life and the privilege of salvation. Lord, I ask that you would protect me from the influence of jealousy and the harm it can cause. Help me to walk in love, grace, and compassion towards others. May my heart be filled with genuine joy for their well-being. Bless and increase me and keep me away from other people's business in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
