“I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” Luke. 18:8.
One night a house caught fire and a young boy was forced to flee to the roof. The father stood on the ground below with outstretched arms, calling to his son, "Jump! I'll catch you." He knew the boy had to jump to save his life. The boy too knew he had to jump for safety. However, all the boy could see was flame, smoke, and blackness. As can be imagined, he was afraid to leave the roof. His father kept yelling: "Jump! I will catch you." But the boy protested, "Daddy, I can't see you." The father replied, "But I can see you and that's all that matters."
Our generation is full of faith teachers and preachers but very few are faith practitioners. In our text Jesus asked a germain question. “Will he find faith on earth when he comes?” He wasn't asking for faith teachers and singers. He was asking for the faith that is pleasing to him. The faith that is pleasing to God is a faith that believes in His existence and His role as a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. It's a faith that motivates one to come to God and earnestly seek Him. This faith is often described as being evidenced by actions and a life that reflects a genuine relationship with God. It's not enough to simply believe God exists; one must also believe that He rewards those who seek Him.
The Faith that pleases God is not just about one aspect of life but involves a holistic approach that encompasses one's thoughts, words, and actions. True biblical faith that is pleasing to God is not just an intellectual assent but is also manifested in actions and a life that is pleasing to God. This includes things like obedience, love for others, and a desire to live a holy life.
No one can ever please God without faith. The faith Jesus is asking for, is the faith that conditions our lives to become selfless and yielded in all things and every area. The faith that makes us a God pleaser not a man pleaser. The faith that makes you hold on even when the pressure of life seems to be against you. I trust the Lord that we will trust God enough to embrace this faith. Selah!
