Walking In The Truth.

“and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John. 8:32.

Once the Devil was walking along with one of his cohorts. They saw a man ahead of them pick up something shiny. "What did he find?" The cohort asked the devil?

"A piece of the truth," the Devil replied. "Doesn't it bother you that he found a piece of the truth that could make him free?" asked the cohort. "No," said the Devil, "I will ensure he makes nothing but religion without power out of the truth.” The mere recognition of truth doesn't fix things, it is the continuous practice and walking in the reality of the truth that makes them free. Satan ensures many Christians never come into this reality.

In the survey taken in early 1991, interviewees were asked, "Do you agree strongly, agree somewhat, disagree somewhat, or disagree strongly with the following statement: There is no such thing as absolute truth; different people can define truth in conflicting ways and still be correct." Only 28% of the respondents expressed strong belief in "absolute truth," and more surprisingly, only 23 percent of born-again or evangelical Christians accepted this idea! What a telling revelation! If more than 75 percent of the followers of Christ say nothing can  be known for certain, does this indicate, as it seems, that they are not convinced that Jesus existed, that He is who He claimed to be, that His Word in authentic, that God created the heavens and earth, or that eternal life awaits the believer? That's what the findings appear to mean.

We live in the age of so much deception. In fact the bible says in 2 Thess. 2:11 “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:” the lie that this generation has bought into is simply that, no truth is absolute, the conclusion is that we all have a right to what is true in our own right. So even some so-called Christians view the bible as the opinion of God not His command. Therefore certain instructions of the bible are seen as obsolete. Successive generations are manufacturing truth that seems to align with their fallen standards. It's the truth of God's Word, that liberates, it's absolute, if you believe it, you must walk in the light of it, then you must observe to do and walk according to it at all times even when it's not convenient and acceptable to others. May God keep us faithful, walking in the eternal truth. Selah!
