“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.” 2 Tim. 2:20.
Someone once said: our lives are fields that primarily contain weeds. We cannot produce great fruits until we can mow the weeds, but that effort alone will never produce acceptable fruit. If we really want that fruit we will have to go deeper. We must plow up the whole field and start again with planting the right seeds, at the right time, wedding and trending until we get the desired harvest. If you don't do that, the weeds will become the stumbling block to your harvest. My dear friends, do all within your capacity and the ambit of God's word to get every stumbling block out of the way for your faith.
God does not want a man to shout "Hallelujah" who doesn't doesn't live according to the standard of God's word. Many of our prayer meetings are killed by men trying to pray who cannot pray because their lives are not right. Sin builds up a great wall between us and God. A man may stand high in the community and may be a member of some church and also stand high in the church hierarchy" but the question is, how does such a man stand in the sight of God? If there is anything wrong in your life, make it right. Don't seek to hide or justify it.
In a nutshell, all I have been saying is that there's a need to redefine yourself in God. Don't come to God, the way you are and remain the way you are. You can come the way you are but present yourself and remain willing for change. Redefining yourself in God involves recognizing that your true identity is rooted in God, not worldly standards, mundane pursuit and achievements. You must align your life with His will and purpose through the sincere studying and application accurately of the word of truth. No doubt this will be a journey not just an event, but it's a journey that will be worth it. You must allow God to reshape your perspective and actions, by embracing His love, seeking His guidance, and actively pursuing a life that reflects His character. Selah!
