“We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.” 2 Cor. 10:12.
A self-righteous man once boasted to a Christian friend of his, “You know, John, I’m not such a bad fellow. There are many worse than I!” His friend replied, “You are measuring yourself by the wrong standard. You measure yourself by the harlots and drunkards you see out there and you feel quite satisfied by comparison. But go and measure yourself alongside Jesus Christ and see how you make out.” No person’s life cuts much of a figure when placed alongside the perfect life of Christ. The life of the Lord Jesus shows us how crooked and defiled our own lives really are.
Self righteousness can be quite subtle, We may not know when we’ve got it. Self-righteousness, the belief in one's own moral superiority, can lead to various dangers, including strained relationships, spiritual blindness, and a lack of compassion. It can hinder personal growth, prevent self-reflection, and foster a judgmental attitude towards others. Ultimately, it can create a barrier to genuine connection with God and others. A self righteous man is blinded by pride and consumed by ignorance. It will surely take mercy and God's intervention for such a person to be redeemed, seei
The primary key to overcoming self-righteousness is genuine salvation and growth in the accurate knowledge of our Lord Jesus. When we focus on knowing Him better each day, we stop striving for righteousness through our own actions, we would rather embrace His finished work on the cross. A self righteous individual need to cultivate humility, recognize their own sinfulness, and rely on God's grace rather than their own efforts for righteousness. In some instances Self-righteousness can be a defense mechanism to hide from one's own imperfections and avoid confronting personal shortcomings. Scriptural standard remains that we accept our shortcomings and embrace the finished work of Christ, living according to His teachings and precepts.

DECLARATION:
Dear Abba Father, I thank You for the gift of life and the privilege of salvation. Lord, I pray for a humble heart, one that is teachable and quick to submit to your will. Break any pride or self-sufficiency within me. Help me to see myself as you see me and to love others as you love them. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and empower me to walk in humility and love. I ask that You increase grace and mercy upon my life in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
