The Wages Of Sin.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God [that is, His remarkable, overwhelming gift of grace to believers] is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Rom. 6:23. Amp.
A distinguished Minister was hosted by a church for a program. He preached very strongly on the subject of sin. After the service, one of the church officers came to counsel with him in the study. He said, "we don't want you to talk as openly as you do about man's guilt and corruption, because if our boys and girls hear you discussing that subject they will more easily become sinners. Call it a mistake if you will, but do not speak so plainly about sin." The minister took down a small bottle, showing it to the visitor and said, "You see that label? It says strychnine, and underneath it in bold, red letters the word 'Poison!' Do you know, man, what you are asking me to do? You are suggesting that I change the label of this bottle.”
He continued, “Suppose I change the label and paste over it the words, 'Essence of Peppermint'; don't you see what might happen? Someone would use it, not knowing the danger involved, and would certainly die.
So it is, too, with the matter of sin. The milder you make your label, the more dangerous you make your poison!" Sin is a deadly poison that often presents itself as harmless pleasure. Many carnal believers use to justify sin by saying, “I know I’m not perfect, nobody is perfect”. Although we will never be perfect, we should strive to follow Jesus’ example daily. When we sin, we suffer because we are out of alignment with God and the enemy has an open door to harm and torment us.
You can break the power of sin, you can live in perfect alignment with God. The power of sin can be broken through faith in Jesus Christ, who by His death and resurrection, defeated the power of sin and death, setting believers free from its dominion. This freedom is experienced through a spiritual transformation that activates the "law of the Spirit of life," allowing God's presence to awaken eternal life within, leading to a mortification of the sinful nature. Practically, believers are called to live by the Spirit, setting their minds on godly things, engaging in spiritual practices like prayer and meditation on God's Word, and actively rejecting fleshly desires to live a life of holiness. This is your portion in God, if you continue to walk in accordance with His word and teachings. Selah!
