What Manner Of Man Are You?

“Since all these things are to be dissolved in this way, it is clear what sort of people you should be in holy conduct and godliness.” 2 Peter. 3:11.

In the above Scripture, the apostle Peter challenges us with a question.  Since we are living at the end of the age, and we know that the Father is waiting for these souls of men, what manner of people ought we to be in our readiness to be used by Him, living in holy conduct and godliness? It does seem like many want to be used by God, but they are not ready to live a life of self denial and consecration. Unfortunately God is a holy God whose eyes cannot behold iniquity. You must measure up before you can be eligible to be used. You and I must make up our minds to either live yielded to the Holy Spirit by doing what the Word of God says, or yield to the devil by allowing our flesh (un-renewed mind and unrestrained five physical senses) to have their way.

Jesus is coming again, believe it or not. The imminent return of Christ ought to be allowed to exert a deep and abiding influence on us, to induce us to lead holy lives. We should feel that there is nothing permanent on this earth; that this is not our abiding home, and that our great interests are in another world. We should be serious, humble and prayerful, and should make it our great object to be prepared for the solemn scenes through which we are soon to pass. A habitual contemplation of the truth that all we see is soon to pass away would produce a most salutary effect on the mind. It would make us serious. It would lead us not to desire to accumulate what must so soon be destroyed. It would prompt us to lay up our treasures in Heaven.

We must cast our gaze to heaven. Our mind must be saturated with the desire to walk in God's divine will. We must become ready vessels for the propagation of His eternal counsel. We must ensure that we don't become so well adjusted to the fallen culture around us such that we are walking in the values enshrined in pop culture. We must become ambassadors indeed of God's Kingdom in the earthly plain. We must walk worthy of His purpose for our lives bearing in mind that his coming is soon.

“For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:” Phil. 3:20.

DECLARATION:

Dear Abba Father, thank You for your immense mercy and grace extended and expended over my life. Lord, I receive greater grace to walk worthy of Your counsel and purpose. I obtain more mercy to do only that which is pleasing in your sight. Grant me strength and supernatural capacity to walk in the supernatural dominion. I declare your ways to be my way, your vision, my vision, your counsel my reality in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
