“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body — whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free — and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.” 1 Cor. 12:12-14.

Welcome to a new month, I trust the Lord to make this month memorable for you on all fronts in Jesus name. Michael Jordan once said, “Teamwork wins championships.” Jordan was one of the best players to ever step on a basketball court, but even he understood that every player matters. Teams only win games when players work together. The same principle holds true in the church as well as in life. The acronym T.e.a.m actually means (Together Everyone Achieves More.) How then should believers and the church act and play as a team?

1. Everyone has a place in the church. I’m sure you heard me, we are all significant in the scheme of things. You may not be the pastor’s favourite, or the outspoken type, you may not be the richest and the highest giver, however ensure you are playing your role in moving the work of the Lord forward. There are countless volunteers who may or may not be visible on a Sunday, yet they make church happen. The team requires every part to function accurately. This same principles hold true in life, know your team and value their inputs regardless, we are all a team.

2. There are no insignificant roles in the church. When a team has high expectations, it’s likely because they have a great leader that creates a culture of high expectations. In the church, we have Jesus. He called us to go and make disciples of all nations. The vision is clear, and we have the best message to share: Jesus came to save us and set things right. We must not be ashamed of being ambassadors and representatives of Jesus everywhere we go, we have been called to be fruitful, we won’t settle for less.

3. Our success will be a reflection of how well we care for one another and work together. A team is successful when everyone understands the team goal and works toward it. Our goal is to follow Jesus and help others meet Him. God has brought us out of the darkness of sin into the light of the truth. Now, we can help others experience the victory Jesus brings. It is time to be bold in caring for others and shine the light of Jesus into dark and broken places. I don’t think this is an impossible mission in this new month. Shalom!

“But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.” 1 Cor. 12:18-20.

“And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.” 1 Cor. 12:26.

DECLARATION:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your timely words. I step into this new month with hope and aspiration to prosper in all you have called me to do. I decree and declare that by the anointing, all covenants, chains, fetters, bondages, designed to weaken our team spirit as believers be broken in the name of Jesus. From today we begin to see as we ought to see, we begin to hear what we ought to hear and we ultimately function by supernatural grace and eternal enablement in Jesus name, amen.
