“When you pass through the waters, I am with you; when you pass through the streams, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not harm you.” Isa. 43:2.
The story is told about a little boy who had been invited to a friend’s birthday party. He was so excited and started counting the days until the party. But the morning of the party he was devastated when he found that a major storm had struck their little town. There was so much snow and wind such that visibility was quite poor. “I don’t think you should go to the party,” his father said. The little boy was so devastated and disappointed. He began to cry and complain to his father, begging to be allowed to go. Finally, much to his surprise, his dad said, “All right, you can go to the party.”
The little boy bundled up in his hat and coat, made his way through the snow filled road heading for the party. When he finally arrived at the venue, he turned around and saw his father turning to walk back home. It was then he realized that his father had been walking behind him all the way to make sure he was safe. He smiled and waved at him as he walked into the venue. There may be times when we feel like we are alone, but in truth we are always surrounded by the love and goodness of God. There is never a time when we are truly on our own. Even when we do not believe Him as we should, "he abideth faithful" (2 Timothy 2:13).
Every child of God needs the presence of God in order to make progress in life. Moses understood this clearly when he clearly insisted that he and the children of Israel would not move from an inch if the presence of God does not go with them Exo. 33:15. To this, God assured him that His presence will go with them. God is also assuring us that He will go with us anywhere we go. His presence would keep us away from danger like a caring father. If you go through fire or water God is with you. You must learn to be conscious of his presence to be able to experience it, everywhere you go. God bless you.
