“See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” Eph. 5:15-16.
Satan’s default settings is deception. He pretends to have your best interest in mind, but in reality, he comes to steal, kill, and destroy. “…When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies” John 8:44. Lies, whether directly or indirectly from Satan, derails you from God’s best. Even in your daily choices, it’s easy to believe small lies — but those small lies make a big difference. It’s spiritual warfare, and you are caught in the crossfire. For instance one lie from the enemy says “ It’s your life, live it the way you want, regardless of the consequences.” That is a lie, every choice has consequences good or bad.
Lies from the enemy cause you to question the goodness or the existence of God. You might believe the lie that God could never forgive or welcome back anyone who doubts or struggles to trust Him. But nothing could be further from the truth. God loves His children even when they pass through the valley of the shadow of death. God promised His presence to guide and to bring you out of such troubles. Never confuse challenges for God’s abandonment. God has never and will never abandone His children.
The greatest antedote to overcoming the devil’s lies starts with, studying the bible for yourself daily. “…You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” John 8:32. Sin follows when we exchange the truth of God for a lie Rom. 1:25. When you spend time reading the Bible and asking God what He wants to teach you, answers will come for your deepest questions. Stay Alert, satan is always looking for opportunities to distort the good things God created for your favour and he uses them against you. You must allow God’s word to help you discern the right from wrong per time. Always tell yourself truth. You are doing the devil’s job for him if you tell yourself a lie that your ideas are higher than God’s ideas. Don’t live a lie embrace the truth and live. Selah!
