“And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Rom. 5:5.
As Alexander the Great was setting out on his conquest of Asia, he inquired into the finances of his followers. To ensure that they would not be troubled over the welfare of their dependents during their absence, he distributed crown estates and revenues among them. When he had thus disposed of nearly all the royal resources, his friend General Perdiccas asked Alexander what he had reserved for himself. "Hope," answered the king. “I reserved Hope for myself.” "In that case," said Perdiccas, "we who share in your labours will also take part in your hopes." He then refused the estate allotted to him, and several other of the king's friends did the same.
Hope is a strange thing. Hope drives us on and pulls us forward into blinding darkness and veiled light. What an odd thing this hope is. Hope accompanies Abraham as he takes his first step away from his homeland, his relatives, his father’s house, and sets his sight on the horizon of God’s promise. Hope drives him on as he strains toward Moriah with his son Isaac, his only son, the one whom he loves. Abraham does not know why God has asked him to sacrifice his long-hoped-for son. He does not see how God will keep his promise of descendants that will outnumber the stars of the sky or the sands of earth. Yet hope waits and trusts with certainty that God will not withhold his promise.
It is hope that pulls David with his sack full of pebbles toward the ironclad invincibility of Goliath. It is hope that gives Moses the strength to stand before Pharaoh and declare, “‘Thus says the Lord: Let my people go to serve me’” Exo. 7:26). All this men of faith lived their lives full of hope, God didn't disappoint them, you must step into this the next season of your life full of hope. As a ministry, we have reached that point, where we must believe in the Lord for something better and reassuring. We must be full of hope, full of expectations that all God has promised us, He is faithful and good enough to fulfil it. Be rich in hope, be rich in expectations, be rich in faith. God is not a man, He cannot lie. Your life is beautiful and colourful by every ramification, it doesn't matter what you are going through now, be expectant of the manifeststion of His goodness, amen.
