Breakfree And Live In The Truth.

“But avoid profane chatter, because those occupied with it will stray further and further into ungodliness, and their message will spread its infection like gangrene. Hymenaeus and Philetus are in this group. They have strayed from the truth by saying that the resurrection has already occurred, and they are undermining some people’s faith.” 2 Tim. 2:16-18. NET.

A group of atheists were criticizing the Bible. One of them spoke about creation. He said, "What man with any common sense could believe that several thousand years ago, God stooped down and picked up a piece of mud, breathed on it, and changed it into a human being?" A Christian man standing by overheard the conversation and responded by saying: "I cannot answer all the questions about creation, but this I know: One night God stooped down and picked up the dirtiest piece of mud in this city, breathed upon it by His Holy Spirit, and changed a gambling, thieving, drinking wretch into a peace-loving man of God. I was that man." He was in other words saying, “You can believe whatever you choose to believe in and allow me the right to whatever I choose to believe in, else you may be practicing witchcraft.” 

Modern heresies often blend popular culture with biblical terminology, making them dangerous because they sound plausible while undermining core doctrines. There are those who practice what they call, progressive christianity, they believe in moral relativism. This view argues that the Bible is a cultural document that can be reinterpreted to fit modern moral standards, they dismiss absolute truth as affirmed by the Bible and rather believe that the Bible should be rewritten to accommodate all the lascivious lifestyle choices forbidden in Scripture. They believe that some of the things condemned in the Bible do not need to be condemned in the light of modern reality. Nothing can be more far from the truth than such a depraved mindset and darkened imagination. What the Bible teaches is contrary to such madness. It says: “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Prov. 3:5-6. The emphasis is do not lean on your own understanding, then in all your ways acknowledge him, you can't acknowledge him except, you stick to the Bible as it is.

We also have those who teach hyper grace. This teaches that because God’s grace is unconditional, repentance for sins is unnecessary after salvation, and obeying God's commands is legalism. It implies that sinful behaviour does not matter. They also progress in error by saying once you are saved, you are forever saved that nothing can disconnect or pluck you out of the hands of God, neither can your name written in the book of life be removed. Why such doctrine is dangerous is that it promotes immoral living and creates a false sense of security while disregarding holiness. What scripture teaches is found in Rom. 6:1-2. "What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?" (NIV) There is no biblical grace that grants you the license to living based on the flesh. Paul says, “Instead I subdue my body and make it my slave, so that after preaching to others I myself will not be disqualified.” 1 Cor. 9:27. We live in very evil days, the admonition of scripture is that you should be watchful and prayerful. You must watch over your conduct and your doctrine. May you not fall prey to this dangerous heresies that can jeopardize the faith of many in our days. Selah!
