Dare To Be Honest And Humble.

"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much." Luke 16:10.

On Oct. 18th 1980,  in Columbus, Ohio, United States. An armored car traveling at top speed accidentally spilled 2 million dollars in cash across the highway. It was hit by another vehicle and the money it was carrying poured on the highway in bags. While throngs of people scrambled to scoop up the money, only about $400,000 was recovered by the police. Photos were submitted of people scooping money, but none of the photos could be used to trace anyone. Police investigation therefore was stalled. However, a man named Melvin Kaiser gave back $57,000 that he had gathered from the money on the highway. He was not caught, he was not found out, he willingly returned such money. My take away from this incident is that true honesty is tested when no one is watching and when the temptation to keep an unexpected windfall is at its absolute highest. 

As believers we must develop honesty and humility, it's the key to peace and strong character. Developing honesty and humility takes daily focus and intention. You can build these traits by embracing truthfulness and recognizing your place in the world. Always be honest with others, but share the truth with kindness and care. Dishonesty damages relationships, while gentle truth builds trust and respect. Look deep inside yourself to understand why you do what you do. True honesty means admitting when you act out of pride, selfishness, or a desire to impress others.

Be quick to admit when you are wrong instead of making excuses or blaming others. Owning your faults shows great strength of character and a humble heart. Your integrity is built on how you handle tiny, everyday choices. If you are honest and trustworthy in small, hidden tasks, you will remain honest in big responsibilities. Focus on living a quiet, faithful life rather than showing off for attention. True humility allows you to find joy in your work and your character, without needing constant applause from the crowd. Walk in pure honesty by ensuring your daily life matches what you claim to believe. When you live genuinely, without pretending to be someone you are not, you honour both God and others. Selah!
