“Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:” Isa. 40:4.
How really is your trajectory in this journey of faith, how has your experience been? Perhaps you too has experienced the highs and lows in this journey of faith. Mountain top highs and valley lows are inevitable as we walk with Jesus. Our journey is not linear or strictly uphill; instead, it looks much like a mountain range. You have seasons where you feel like you’re in a valley or down, followed by seasons of tremendous spiritual growth, faith, and what some call mountain top moments. But you must know that irrespective of what you feel now, your commitment to our soon coming king must remain paramount.
Your communication with God through prayers and the study of His Word regularly, cannot be overemphasized. You must be persuaded and remain resolute in the fact that Jesus never leaves us nor forsakes us. There is absolutely nothing we can do to separate ourselves from the the love of the Lord because, as believers, we were bought at a price; the precious blood of Jesus Christ. We belong to God; we are His children. How beautiful and reassuring is this truth?
So have you found yourself in one of those spiritual valleys? Longing to get back on the mountain top or at least just not in the valley any longer? When I find myself in these seasons, I often try to think of the most simple things I can do to feel connected to God.
If you feel stagnant in your faith, I encourage you to go back to the word of God. Spend quality time each day on the reading and study of the word. You can not over emphasize this. Spend time every day reading these truths from God’s Word and reflecting on what God has done in your life. List out areas in which you’re facing troubles, and ask God to intervene and guide you in His direction. We are not to live life alone, so find an accountability partner or friend whom you can confide in about this season. Ask them to check in with you on your time reading your Bible and prayer. I trust God to pull you through this season in Jesus name.
