Don't Miss Heaven.

"In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God but you yourselves cast out."  Luke 13:28.

Think of a gold miner trapped in a deep, dark large cave. A rescue team drops a rope down the only shaft leading to the surface and safety. But the miner has spent his final hours stuffing his bags, pockets, his belt, and his hands with heavy chunks of gold. As he tries to climb the rope, the heavy weight pulls him down. He refuses to let go of the treasure, and the rope couldn't pull him because of  the weight of all the treasures he is bearing. The rope eventually snapped and he perished inches from rescue.  Because his hands were full of things he couldn't keep and his body had become too weighty for rescue. Jesus warned that a person can gain the whole world yet forfeit their soul. The profound grief of missing heaven involves looking back at a lifetime spent accumulating promotions, comfort, and applause—only to realize in the final reckoning that every ounce of it was dust, and the soul is bankrupt.

Trust me, there's sorrow for everyone who misses out on his eternal destiny in God. The greatest pain of missing heaven is the permanent separation from the presence of God. Souls in hell experience the complete absence of divine love, light, and mercy. This creates an infinite void that can never be filled or comforted. Regret is magnified by the perfect recollection of earthly life. The lost will clearly remember every sermon heard, every warning given, and every opportunity rejected. These memories serve as a constant reminder that their destination was entirely preventable. 

The pain of loss is intensified by witnessing the joy of the saved. The condemned will look across the vast gulf and see the faithful enjoying eternal rewards. Realizing they were meant to share in that glory produces unbearable sorrow. Earthly suffering offers the hope of an ending, but eternal damnation holds no such comfort. The realization that the door of mercy is shut forever breeds absolute despair. There are no second chances, no appeals, and no hope of future release. The sinner will bear the crushing weight of knowing they chose their own destruction. They cannot blame God, circumstances, or others for their final destination. This self-inflicted ruin causes internal torment that manifests as bitter weeping and gnashing of teeth. Don't miss heaven, no matter what!
