Don't Serve Two Masters.

"No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." Matt. 6:24.

According to the unverified legend, there's this story about a man from a border state who was conscripted or forced to join the military to fight for one of the warring sides in a dispute. Because he appeared to be neutral, he refused to take a definitive side. To appease both sides in the war, he decided to wear the top of one of the warring sides and the trouser of the other side, at least to display his neutrality. On the battlefield, this attempt at playing both sides proved fatal. Because he looked like an enemy to both camps, he was fired upon by both armies. Instead of being spared by neutrality, he was caught in "friendly fire" meaning since they couldn't tell where exactly he belonged, it's safer to take him out, in the end he suffered loss from indecision.

Indecision is never truly neutral; when you fail to choose God, you actively default to the devil. Being decisive about your faith protects you from spiritual danger, guarantees eternal peace, and aligns you with God's will. You cannot divide your heart between God and the kingdom of darkness. Trying to sit on the fence displeases the One who created you and gave everything for your redemption. God desires total surrender, and partial loyalty is viewed as unfaithfulness. Choosing to delay your commitment to God or wavering between His ways and the world is actually a decision in itself—a decision to rebel. True faith requires decisive action, whereas prolonged waiting for "the right time" leads directly to spiritual apathy.

The devil operates as a roaring lion, exploiting any hesitation or vulnerability in your spiritual walk. Indecision lowers your spiritual defenses, leaving you open to deception and moral compromise. You need a firm, unyielding stance in God to resist his attacks. A divided, double-minded individual is unstable and will never receive the wisdom they need to navigate life. God guides those who trust Him wholly, but constant wavering prevents you from hearing His voice and experiencing His divine clarity. Life is temporary, and putting off your decision for God jeopardizes your eternal destiny. Eternity is at stake, and waiting for tomorrow to live for God ignores the reality that no one is promised tomorrow. Deciding today secures your soul. Selah!
