Embrace The Season You're In.

“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Psa. 1:3.

A farmer once spent weeks complaining that his seeds weren't sprouting in the winter. His wiser neighbour gently reminded him, "You are angry at your winter because you are comparing it to your neighbour's spring season." I guess there's so much to learn on this. Besides, you need to consider the Japanese maple tree. In the biting cold of winter, it loses all its beautiful leaves and greenness, it appears dead and dormant. If a tree could speak, it might beg to keep its leaves, thinking dormancy is a punishment. But a gardener knows that cutting back the branches and dropping the leaves allows the tree to conserve its energy, develop deeper roots, and prepare for a brilliant spring. Your "wilderness" or "pruning" season isn't God punishing you; He is clearing away what is comfortable so you can grow stronger roots for a greater harvest ahead.

Don't pursue superficial Christianity, it  relies on outward appearances and religious routines without genuine heart transformation. Embracing internal growth and depth with scripture roots your faith, protects against spiritual deception, and empowers you to live a genuinely transformed life rather than one built on empty habits. Shallow faith looks good in comfortable seasons but withers when hardship strikes. Deep roots in God's Word provide the necessary foundation to endure suffering and persecution. Without a deep understanding of biblical truth, it is easy to accept false teachings or cultural ideologies that contradict God's nature.

Superficiality often settles for "knowing about God” without applying His teachings. Internal growth demands that you align your actions with the scriptures, actively living out your faith. If your heart is not filled with the depth of scripture, you remain vulnerable to worldly desires and sinful habits. Internal transformation changes what you desire, rather than just forcing outward compliance. God desires an authentic relationship over empty rituals. Delving deeply into scripture allows you to know His true character, fostering sincere, Spirit-led worship. Superficial religion conforms easily to the patterns of the world, adopting its standards and anxieties. Internal growth requires a complete rewiring of how you think and evaluate the world. Focusing on superficial appearances leads to hypocrisy—acting pious in public but harboring wickedness in private. True internal depth naturally molds your character to reflect Christ in all situations.
