“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Gal. 6:9.

In 1924, two climbers were part of an expedition that set out to conquer Mount Everest. As far as is known, they never reached the summit; and they never returned. Somewhere on that gigantic mountain they were overpowered by the elements and died. After the failure of the expedition, the rest of the party returned home. Addressing a meeting in London, one of those who returned described the ill-fated adventure. He then turned to a huge photograph of Mount Everest, mounted on the wall behind him. “Everest,” he cried, “we tried to conquer you once, but you overpowered us. We tried to conquer you a second time, but again you were too much for us. But, Everest, I want you to know that we are going to conquer you, for you can’t grow any bigger, and we can!”

As a believer you should never quit in pursuing your goals because your labour is part of a divine purpose that ultimately leads to spiritual growth, reward, and the fulfillment of God’s will. Our text encourages believers not to become weary in doing good, promising that "at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Persistence is key to seeing the fruition of your hard work. Often, the urge to quit comes just before a breakthrough. Scripture suggests that if you can hold on a little longer, you may be standing on the brink of success, often needing only to push through a temporary storm. Persistence is not just about earthly success; it is a spiritual act that God acknowledges and rewards. You must be a die hard stickler to pursuing that which you know to be God's purpose for your life. There is no doubt a due season for the reward of your tireless labour.

Scriptures basically teach that trials and the need to endure them produce perseverance, which in turn leads to maturity, making you "complete, not lacking anything." The process of pursuing goals builds character that glorifies God. You must remind  yourself of the reality that God "gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak," allowing those who hope in Him to "run and not grow weary". You do not have to rely on your own strength alone. Rom. 8:28 indicates that God works all things together for good. Overcoming challenges and persevering in your goals allows your story to eventually make sense and inspire others, turning your struggle into a testimony.

DECLARATION:

Dear Abba Father, I thank You for the gift of life and the privilege of salvation. Lord, I come before You today, acknowledging that You are the source of my life and my purpose. I thank You for Your love and for guiding my steps. Lord, I ask that You would keep my heart aligned with Yours and my mind fixed on Your will. Deliver me from the desire to follow the ways of this world from becoming carnal in my thoughts, actions, or pursuits. I renounce lukewarmness and any worldly distractions that would tempt me to lose sight of Your calling in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
