Finding Your True North.

"For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ." Phil. 3:20.

A family goes on a luxury vacation to a tropical resort. They are only supposed to stay for three days before returning to their real home and responsibilities. But they love the resort so much—the room service, the pool, the comfortable bed—that they decide to unpack all their suitcases, buy new furniture, and try to install high-speed Wi-Fi in the hotel room. They spend all their money trying to make a temporary vacation spot into a permanent residence. When the hotel manager reminds them they must check out soon, they get angry and upset.I’m sure the whole thing looks strange to you that someone could act that way. Well, it's the picture of an advert human being. This world is only a hotel, not our home. God gave us temporary earthly blessings to enjoy, but we have started unpacking our lives here. 

We try to build our ultimate kingdom in a place that is passing away. Because we are so comfortable in the "hotel," we rarely think about checking out and going to the real home waiting for us.

As believers, our citizenship is of heaven rather than on this temporary earth. Getting trapped in mundane worries makes a person forget their true home. God calls His children to look past daily routines and remember their eternal destination. Physical and worldly things fade away very quickly. Spending all your energy on temporary items wastes the precious time God gives you. Believers must focus on eternal realities that last forever.

Obsessing over everyday earthly survival pulls the mind away from God. This worldly focus brings spiritual emptiness and inner death. Walking in the Spirit brings true peace and vibrant life instead. Earthly wealth and mundane possessions can break, rust, or get stolen. Putting all your hope in them leads to constant disappointment. God wants you to invest your heart in riches that never fade away. Worrying about basic worldly needs distracts you from God’s greater mission. The Lord promises to take care of your daily life when you put Him first. Pursuing His kingdom brings divine provision without the burden of worldly traps. Selah!

Dear Abba Father, I thank You for the gift of life and the privilege of salvation.  I come before You today acknowledging that life on earth is loud, fast, and heavy. There are so many physical realities, daily worries, and earthly systems trying to pull at my mind, trap my feet, and tangle my heart. Untangle my soul from the anxieties of this world. When the noise of daily survival, doubt, and earthly demands surrounds me, help me to lift my eyes higher. Remind me that I am a citizen of heaven first, passing through this earth for only a brief moment in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
