“And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two [miles].” Matt. 5:41. Amp.

Going the extra mile, is an expression that is popularized by the words of Jesus in our text. I have heard it being used by many in their secular pursuit. It usually means to go beyond one’s natural ability or to make a special effort to accomplish a thing. As they say, stretch yourself. Going the extra mile is not just to walk more than required, it’s to do such for the right course and purpose. If you are seeking to go the extra mile with God, to any degree beyond that which is commonly accepted by the generality of the people then you must embrace the Purpose and Vision of God. Although I must assure you, the way will be lonely.

Elijah verily believed that he was the only one left in faithfulness to God, and he repeated this several times, “I only am left.” He had lost sight of the possibility that the prophets reported by Obadiah to have been hidden might still be in that underground in faithfulness to God, or some of them at least. But the Lord knew better and told him of seven thousand saints who have not surrendered and who would not capitulate to Jezebel or Baal. The fact is that what Elijah believed was positively not true. If we look at things horizontally we may only see ourselves therefore feel lonely, but if we look up to heaven we will see much more.

Even if others treat you unfairly, how you behave to them is very important to heaven. Treat them generously is the message. Going the extra mile which implies patience would let us know about Jesus more. God desires that you walk with Him surely and sincerely. Meaning having a practical relationship with the Lord. The extra mile would become the reality in which you operate with God. Are you not tired of the shallow and the mundane? Don’t you want to go deeper with God. You should be done with that which does not satisfy, you should cross over to the other side with God, love Him more, experience Him more and walk in the light of your salvation. Get yourself up it is time to begin to walk the extra mile with the Lord daily, amen

“Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also. View more” 2 Cor. 8:7.

DECLARATION:

Dear Heavenly Father, You are my light and my salvation, who shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; who will I be afraid of? When those who practice evil, my enemies, and my oppressors come near me to devour my flesh, they stumble and fall. If an army encamp against me, my heart will not fear. If a war is launched against me, I will even trust in that situation. God will fight for me and I will hold my peace in Jesus name, amen.
