"know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Rom. 9:28.
Our text clearly gives us a perspective a believer should hold in all things. All things that happen to you may not be good, but they are conditioned to work together for your good. When we count our blessings, we should include the weaknesses, the hardships, the burdens, and the trials we face. If we do, we might find that God has used our difficulties more than the "good" things to help us grow spiritually. Why is that? Because it is in those difficult places that we discover the sufficiency of His grace. In our trials, we turn to God. As we depend on Him, we find that His strength is made perfect in our weakness 2 Cor. 12:9. Take a moment and think about the way God has led you.
Life could be filled with vicissitudes, challenges and uncertainties. We encounter unexpected setbacks, disappointments, and trials that can shake our faith and leave us questioning God’s plan. In such moments, it’s crucial to remember that we are not alone in our struggles. We serve a God who is aware of every circumstance we face, and He remains in control, even when our circumstances seem daunting and overwhelming. It’s comforting to know that regardless of what we face—financial difficulties, health issues, broken relationships, or any other trial—God is still in control.
He sees the bigger picture, and His purposes extend far beyond our immediate circumstances. When we surrender our lives to Him, we can trust that He is actively working all things together for our good, even when we cannot see it now.
Throughout Scripture, we find numerous examples of God’s faithfulness in turning difficult situations for good. Consider for instance the life of Job, who suffered great loss and adversity but ultimately witnessed the restoration of all he had lost. His life is a major testament to our text and a powerful reminder that our circumstances do not limit God but that God can work miracles in every situation we find ourselves in, selah!
