"Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." — Luke 10:19.

Animal trainers say that the secret of handling lions, tigers, and leopards is to keep them constantly afraid of you. The instant they get over their fear, they will attack. They are treacherous beasts and often gather courage for an attack when the trainer's eyes are turned away from them. One never knows when they will spring at their keeper if they have a chance to do it from behind. Our fight with the forces of evil is like that. Satan is always seeking to attack us from the rear or in ambush. He goes about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour, but he is a great coward when faced with courage. "Resist the devil and he will flee from you" is as true today as it was when the Apostle James first made the declaration (Jam 4:7). No doubt, the foundational principle for victory over the devil is total submission to God's will, which empowers you to resist the devil, forcing him to flee.

Believers are called to protect themselves against spiritual attacks by using the defensive and offensive weapons God has provided. Jesus defeated the devil  and temptation by quoting Scripture. Speaking the Word aloud is a direct way to combat the lies and accusations of the enemy. We have been given delegated authority to trample on the power of the enemy and command evil spirits to leave, with the promise that, nothing shall by any means harm us all. We must, however, be sober and vigilant. It  means being alert to the devil's schemes rather than being passive, ensuring he does not gain a foothold. Victory is secured through the finished work of Jesus on the cross for you and I.

Standing your ground against the wiles (schemes, tactics, and deceptions) of the devil, as declared in Eph. 6:11, involves proactive spiritual preparation and active resistance. The core principle is that the battle is not against people, but spiritual forces, and victory is found through God's strength rather than personal effort. The primary principle is to "put on the whole armor of God" to withstand all strategies of the devil, ensuring there are no unprotected spots in your life and territory. Use all your spiritual weapons: Belt of Truth: Anchoring your life in God's truth to counteract deception. Breastplate of Righteousness: Guarding your heart by living in obedience and relying on Christ's righteousness. Shoes of the Gospel of Peace: Standing firm with the stability that comes from the gospel. Shield of Faith: Extinguishing the "fiery darts" (doubts, fears, temptations) by trusting God's promises. Helmet of Salvation: Protecting your mind and thoughts with the assurance of your salvation. Sword of the Spirit: Using the Word of God as an offensive weapon, as Jesus did when tempted. This is your only way to perpetual victory and dominion. Selah!

DECLARATION:

Dear Abba Father, I thank You for the gift of life and the privilege of salvation. According to Your Word, I declare that no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against me in judgment is condemned. I rebuke and dismantle every assignment of the adversary, every curse, and every demonic blockade designed to stop my progress. I take authority over spirits of fear, discord, sickness, and lack, and I command them to leave me now in Jesus' name. I am more than a conqueror through Christ who loves me. Amen.
