"When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” Matt. 16:13.
Every photographer knows the importance of having the camera lens in focus before triggering the shutter. You can set the right shutter speed. You can open the lens to its proper setting. But if that lens is not in focus, the picture will be perhaps blurry, off-focus and worthless. Anyone who’s trying to sell something these days knows the importance of having an accurate focus on the market for which a product is intended. Whether you’re trying to sell soap or soft drinks, it’s necessary to know exactly which people will most likely purchase your product. On what age group or sector of the public do you focus your advertising?
So Jesus realized that if people were going to follow him, and if his followers were going to be truly effective Christians in the world, they needed to know exactly who he was.
They also needed to know precisely what was involved in being a Christian.
That’s probably one reason why he asked this simple, but all-important question in our Bible reading. “Tell me,” he says, “who do people say I am?” And a little later he refines the question: “What about you?” he asked them. “Who do you say I am?” Knowing Jesus personally requires an experiential encounter, rather than just knowing "about" him, often called "knowledge by acquaintance". It involves, Intimacy through Prayer, spending time in personal prayer and communion with God allows for a personal, experiential revelation of His nature. Operating in faith—believing without physically seeing—deepens this intimacy and allows Jesus to be manifested in a believer's life.
The Bible presents Jesus not just as Saviour, but as King, Shepherd, Teacher, God, and Son of Man.
Knowing Jesus in his multifaceted dimensions involves exploring his varied nature, roles, and works as revealed in Scripture and experienced through personal relationships. The true knowledge of Jesus is experienced "three-dimensionally," often likened to a stool that requires all three legs to stand. You must know His works and work (Service) for Him. In working for Jesus, you discover the need for His strength and resources in achieving any and everything in life.
You must know Him in Witness (Intimacy): Spending time with him through prayer, meditation, and quiet listening. You must know Him through the Word (Scripture): Knowing him through the Bible, which is his living Word is the secret to becoming built up, rooted and grounded in Him. Selah!

DECLARATION:
Dear Abba Father, I thank You for the gift of life and the privilege of salvation. Lord, I know that I am called to walk, speak, think, and love as You did. But I confess that I often live for myself instead of for You. Please remove my pride, vanity, and selfishness. Wash away my sins and renew my heart. Transform me into a new creature that desires what is good, holy, and true. Let my life be a pure reflection of Your love in everything I do. In Jesus' name, Amen".
