“looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Heb. 12:2.

The Lord wants His people to be separated from the world and completely yielded to Him. He wants a regenerated people, sanctified and baptized in the Holy Ghost walking in accurate knowledge of the scriptures. He wants a consecrated and dedicated people fit and well adjusted and tailored for the Master’s use. God is ready to use any and everybody who is fit and ready for Him in our days. But the challenge is that so many people look to themselves for what they need more than they look to God. Some of you haven’t done all you could have done for God because you didn’t think you had what it takes. You’ve been waiting to receive what it takes without realising that all God wants is for you to use what you already have.

Moses did not always trust God. You can’t try to figure things out on your own like Moses did. After God had given him instructions to go into Egypt and ask Pharaoh to let His people go, Moses looked to himself and tried to figure things out. First, he told the Lord he was not a good speaker. “And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth?…have not I the LORD” Exo. 4:10,11.

In the eyes of people, all Moses had was a rod; but when God was finished using that rod, it brought the Israelites out of Egypt and even separated the waters of the Red Sea. That simple rod became one of the greatest possessions Moses ever had because God made it great. God did miraculous things through that simple rod. Some of us look to ourselves as Moses did, and you think you don’t have anything to work with. Then you wonder how you can possibly accomplish what God wants you to. You can’t look at what you have and then decide on your own whether or not it is going to be a success for God. You have to look to God, trust Him and say as the Psalmist did, “Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.” Ps. 143:8.
