Making The Impossible Possible.

"Jesus said to him, 'If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.'" Mark. 9:23.

Remember the four-minute mile? People had been trying to achieve it since the days of the ancient Greeks. In fact, folklore has it that the Greeks had lions chase the runners, thinking that would make them run faster. They also tried drinking tiger’s milk. Nothing they tried worked. So they decided it was impossible for a person to run a mile in four minutes or less. And for over a thousand years everyone believed it. Our bone structure is all wrong. Wind resistance is too great. We have inadequate lung power. There were a million reasons.

Then one man, a single human being, proved that the doctors, the trainers, the athletes, and the millions of runners before him, who tried and failed, were all wrong. On May 6, 1954, British medical student Roger Bannister became the first person to run a mile in under 4 minutes, clocking 3:59.4 at Oxford's Iffley Road track. This historic feat shattered a perceived human limit and inspired future generations, with the record broken again just 46 days later.

Overcoming the perception of impossibility involves a combination of shifting your mindset and taking structured, consistent action. That men believe something is impossible doesn't automatically make it truly impossible until you try it. Understand that your abilities and intelligence can be developed through dedication and hard work. Often, a task seems impossible simply because you lack the necessary knowledge or comprehension. Invest time in learning the required information through self-study, mentorship, or formal education to increase your competence and confidence.

In a world like ours, which is filled with challenges and obstacles, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by the notion of impossibility. However, it is important to remember that nothing is truly impossible if you have the right mindset and determination. Maintain a positive attitude even when faced with setbacks. Remember that failure is a stepping stone to success, and each obstacle you overcome brings you closer to your goal. Surround yourself with positive, growth-minded individuals who can offer encouragement and different perspectives. Don't be afraid to ask for advice from people who have experience with similar challenges. May God grant you every wisdom and understanding you need this new year to overcome every sense of impossibility.
