Recovering Your Cutting Edge.

"On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'" Matt. 7:22-23.
A fisherman had planned a special fishing trip for several months. He made out a list of essentials and ticked each item off as he packed. He had his car checked and serviced. All of his appointments were under control. Everything was ready. He even made sure to leave his wife and family well stocked with whatever they might need. The long awaited time finally arrived, and he eagerly bid them goodbye, hopped in his car and left.
He arrived at his fishing cabin that evening, got things tidied up and his food in order, set the alarm for 4 AM, then went to sleep dreaming of the fish he would catch on the morrow.
He arose hurriedly at the first sound of the alarm, quickly ate eggs and bacon, almost gulping the food down in his anxiety to get out on the lake. Just as he was getting into his boat, he made a startling discovery: he had not brought along any bait-the bait box was empty!
Many people prepare to meet God in a similar way. Many Christians attend church but remain unprepared for their Master because they treat faith as a cultural ritual rather than a transformative relationship. This disconnect results in spiritual complacency, a lack of personal obedience, and a failure to align their daily lives with Christ’s teachings. Such honour God with their church attendance week in and week out. They sing to praise and adore Him, but their hearts and daily actions do not align with His will. They go to church because it is a routine, a family habit, or a social custom, rather than out of a genuine desire to know God more and to walk in His complete counsel.
Coming to church while holding grudges or refusing to reconcile with others blocks spiritual growth and communion with God. Attending church without exhibiting the qualities of a changed life, such as love, kindness, and humility, leaves a person spiritually barren. The truth is that God is not pleased with believers who are crippled spiritually and barren of good works. Prioritizing worldly desires, wealth, or societal status over spiritual status creates a divided heart that cannot fully serve the Master. Some churchgoers trust in their own religious activities or "good deeds" rather than relying entirely on God’s grace and the redeeming work of Jesus. They are not prepared because they live as though the Master's return is distant or entirely irrelevant, filling their lives with earthly distractions. May such not end up with regrets in Jesus name. Amen!

DECLARATION:
Dear Abba Father, I thank You for the gift of life and the privilege of salvation. I come before You just as I am, asking for Your transformative power to work within me. Ignite a fresh, burning passion for You in my heart. I want a fervent spirit one that chases after Your will with zeal and devotion. Lord, change me from the inside out. Renew my mind, soften my heart, and align my desires with Yours. Give me the courage to let go of old habits, fears, and distractions that hold me back from the life You have planned for me. Grant me the wisdom to discern Your voice and the strength to obey Your leading every single day in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
