Stay The Course.

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." — 2 Cor. 4:18.

During flight training in close formations, pilots sometimes have to fly directly into thick, blinding clouds where visibility drops to zero, they literally can't see anything. A disciplined pilot trims the aircraft controls to stay steady on course before entering the fog. Once inside the zero-visibility cloud, the absolute rule is to make no sudden changes—no climbing, turning, or diving. Panicking or trying to radically adjust out of fear leads to disaster. The safest thing to do at that point is to keep everything locked and go straight ahead based on the preparation done in the clear light. 

When life gets cloudy and we face confusing decisions or fear making a misstep, the urge to panic and overhaul everything can cause spiritual error.

Remaining anchored during difficult times requires a deliberate alignment of your mindset, habits, and faith to God and His instructions. Your primary defense against getting overwhelmed by a difficult season is controlling what you look at. When you focus entirely on your immediate, painful circumstances, your anxiety grows and your direction becomes skewed. Instead, consciously shift your attention toward God’s unchanging character and his long-term promises. By viewing temporary earthly struggles through the lens of eternity, you gain the perspective needed to endure without losing your way.

A difficult season quickly breeds negative thoughts, doubt, and despair, which can easily pull you off course. To maintain your direction, you must actively protect your mind from destructive patterns by filling it with truth, gratitude, and purity. Choosing to meditate on what is good and true acts as a mental shield, preserving your inner peace and keeping your decisions aligned with your core values. Rather than viewing hardships merely as obstacles, reframe them as opportunities to build endurance and strengthen your character, transforming trials into catalysts for growth.
