"In their case the god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they will not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God". 2 Cor. 4:4.

Every pastor, every biblical counselor one time or the other has talked to a counselee that really couldn’t see his sin and mistakes very accurately. You’ve patiently shown him how he’s hurting his marriage, how he’s not fulfilling his biblical role, how he’s not loving his wife as Christ loves the church, and he’s not seen it. He refuses your counsel. He doesn’t own his sin. He rejects blame. It’s difficult to communicate the biblical concept of spiritual blindness—that we don’t see our sin very clearly. Sin deceives us to its existence and we want to be deceived about it.

Paul the Apostle, never failed to pray for the church in Ephesus that their eyes of understanding be enlightened. Today the same prayer is applicable to you and I. So many so-called Christians lack understanding or awareness of spiritual truths, such as the nature of God or the path to salvation. spiritual blindness is not a physical condition, it's a spiritual condition and signifies the inability to perceive spiritual realities, even when confronted with them. This blindness can stem from various factors, including prejudice, presumptions, or a general lack of spiritual insight.

God wants you to be spiritually alert and seeing the exact way you should be seeing. Overcoming spiritual blindness involves actively seeking God's revelation and applying His Word to one's life. It requires a shift from relying on personal reasoning to trusting in God's truth. This also includes acknowledging a spiritual need, being honest about one's condition, and actively pursuing spiritual growth. Make it a point of duty to read, listen to, and meditate on the Word: Engage with scripture actively, expecting God to speak something new and relevant to your circumstances. Pray for understanding and revelation: Request God's Holy Spirit to enlighten your understanding of His Word.  Listen for God's voice in your heart and mind, recognizing His leading and obey it.

DECLARATION:

Dear Abba Father, I thank You for the gift of life and the privilege of salvation. Lord I come before you with a humble heart, acknowledging my need for your guidance and your wisdom. I pray that you would open my eyes to spiritual truth, that I may see your light shining brightly within me and around me. Grant me the strength to resist evil and choose good always. I ask that you illuminate my mind and soul, that I may understand your words and your ways. Help me to discern your will for my life and to walk in your truth. In the name of Jesus, Amen."
