“This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.” Deaut. 30:19.

Both the hummingbird and the vulture fly over our nation's deserts. All vultures see is nothing but rotting meat, and they always go for it because that is what they look for. They thrive on a dead diet. But hummingbirds ignore the smelly flesh of dead animals. Instead, they look for the colorful blossoms of desert plants. The vultures live on what was. They live in the past. They fill themselves with what is dead and gone. But hummingbirds live on what is. They seek a new life. They fill themselves with freshness and life. Each bird finds what it is looking for. We all do, trust me.

Our focus and intentions influence our experiences and discoveries. It implies that if we actively pursue something, whether it's happiness, success, or connection, we are more likely to find it. Conversely, it can also suggest that if we focus on negativity or distrust, those things are what we will encounter. No doubt our inner state of being and our values shape how we interact with the world and what we will find and that which we are becoming.

Make up your mind to choose a positive attitude and world view. You must quit looking for troubles and challenges. walk into today with eyes to see the beauty in all creation. Eyes to see the glory of our creator, and eyes to see as Jesus desires us to see. Sure, it is easy to see the evil, sin, and fallen world we live in. But let's push ourselves today to rise above that and see the beauty of Christ in all things. God has no doubt set before us all, life and death, blessings and curses, increase and limitations, possibilities and negativity. You must, as a matter of right, choose what you want to see. Your choice is your right.
