The Dangers Of Ingratitude.

"For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened". Rom. 1:21-22.
A beautiful young mother returned to discover the building in which her little infant lay asleep was in flames. The firemen could not restrain her and she dashed through the flames and rescued her child, but in doing so, she was so severely burned that her face was horribly disfigured for life. When she looked at her face in the glass after it was healed, she was shocked at her disfigurement, but was comforted by the thought that when her little girl grew up she would appreciate the sacrifice that her mother had made to rescue her. I do hope you and I are indeed grateful for the sacrifice Jesus has made to bring you to where you are today.
Ingratitude denotes spiritual immaturity. Infants do not always appreciate what parents do for them. They have short memories. Their concern is not what you did for me yesterday, but what you are doing for me today. The past is meaningless and so is the future. They live for the present. Ungrateful individuals often forget the kindness, efforts, and support they have received from others or from a higher power, choosing instead to focus on a single instance where their expectations were not met. Those who are mature are deeply appreciative of those who laboured in the past. They recognize those who labour during the present and provide for those who will be labouring in the future.
Gratitude has a special place in God's heart. Only great fools are not grateful. Gratitude reduces anxiety and depression, increases positive emotions, improves sleep, builds self-esteem, and enhances mental strength, making you more resilient to life's challenges. Expressing thanks strengthens existing bonds and attracts new people, as it shows you value others' contributions, fostering trust and preventing isolation. A grateful mindset shifts focus from what's missing to what you have, creating a positive feedback loop that attracts more health, happiness, and opens doors that would otherwise remain shut. May your life not be shut to the blessings of God . Amen.
