"We, however, will not boast beyond limits, but will boast only with regard to the area of influence God assigned to us, to reach even to you." 2 Cor. 10:13.

In the spring of 1883 two young men graduated from medical school. The two were friends but they differed both in appearance and ambition. Ben was short and stocky. William was tall and thin. Ben dreamed of practicing medicine on the East Coast in the city. William wanted to work in a rural community. Ben begged his friend to go to New York where they could both make a fortune. William refused. His friend called him foolish for wanting to practice medicine in the Midwest. "But," William said, "I want first of all to be a great surgeon...the very best, if I have the ability." Years later the wealthy and powerful came from around the world to William to be treated at his clinic he founded in a rural area. That is the story behind The Mayo Clinic, which exists up until today. Renowned leadership expert John C Maxwell breaks the success journey into three actionable phases: The Knowing Phase, The Growing Phase, and The Sowing Phase. First, knowing your unique purpose in life. Second, growing to reach your God-given potential. Third, sowing into the lives of others.

The "knowing phase" of your calling is the foundational season where God reveals your identity and purpose. It is about intimately understanding who called you and what you were created to do, transitioning you from doubt to the firm assurance of your spiritual assignment. Before you can know your specific assignment, you must know God intimately. True calling flows from a deep relationship with Him, recognizing His sovereignty and lordship over your life. The second is the growing phase, the growing phase of your calling is a season of preparation, testing, and character development. God uses this crucial period to transform you, build your endurance, and equip you with everything you need to fulfill the specific purpose and destiny He has designed for your life. Before stepping into the fullness of your calling, God often takes you through a hidden season of preparation. This phase is characterized by pruning—a sometimes painful process of shedding old habits, character flaws, and distractions to expand your capacity for greater fruitfulness.

The sowing phase of a calling is a season of full manifestation, where you are sowing into the next generation. You are investing into the next generation everything that God has by privilege blessed you with. Nobody is designed to live forever or even reign forever. No matter how great you are, a season comes upon you where and when you will be out of the scene and be relegated to history. To better prepare for such a season you must pour into the next generation. It's your phase of sowing. It requires investing time, energy, and resources into God's vision without seeing immediate results. The core mission is to be faithful in planting seeds; God is responsible for the growth. Paul plants, Apollo waters, it's God who brings the increase. Never be caught without seeds. The only proof of a well lived life on your journey of success is that you have enough seed to sow into the next generation so that you can preserve posterity. Selah!

DECLARATION:

Dear Abba Father, I thank You for the gift of life and the privilege of salvation. I come before You acknowledging that my life is not my own; You formed me and created me for a specific purpose. Lord, I ask that You reveal Your divine calling and mandate for my life in a way that is clear and undeniable. Open my spiritual eyes and ears to Your guidance, and remove every form of confusion or doubt that clouds my understanding. Align my heart with Your will. Grant me the wisdom to recognize the unique gifts and talents You have deposited within me, and give me the grace and courage to stir them up for Your glory in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
