The Power Of Determination.

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

Gal. 6:9

In 1909, after several failed, heartbreaking attempts, 52-year-old U.S. Navy Commander Robert Peary was determined to reach the North Pole. On one previous trip, he had lost eight toes to frostbite. But he didn't stop. On March 1, 1909, he set out for the final 413 miles. His team faced roaring winds, temperatures of -50°F, and massive ridges of ice. Channels of open water often appeared, forcing them to wait for the water to refreeze before scampering across thin ice. Despite the loss of his toes, the physical pain, and the overwhelming odds, Peary was determined never to quit. He eventually achieved that feat of arriving at the North pole with his team. The north pole is the end of the earth to the north, it's situated in the arctic seas, very cold and treacherous, yet he achieved his dream.

Three ingredients are so important in cultivating the resilience that can help you achieve what looks like an impossible feat. It starts with the power of preparation: Preparation is the foundational key to success, transforming potential into performance and enabling confidence and comfort. It sets high achievers apart. It involves intentional, strategic action that bridges the gap between opportunity and destiny, transforming average individuals into masters of their field. Secondly, the power of Perseverance: Determination demands we keep hurling ourselves against that obstacle, trusting that God’s purpose is stronger than the roadblock. You must not quit or throw in the towel, because of opposition, you will reap if you don't quit.

The  "can-do" spirit is the third ingredient for achieving uncommon success despite opposition. It's a proactive, positive, and resilient mindset characterized by a determination to overcome obstacles, solve problems, and achieve goals, rather than dwelling on limitations or challenges. It is often described as an "enterprising outlook" or "get-it-done" attitude, focusing on taking action and finding solutions, particularly in difficult or uncertain situations. In the spiritual realm, our determination is holding onto faith even when we cannot see the result. You must learn how to lean on Jesus, looking into Him, who is the author and finisher of your faith. Selah!
