The Power Of Sacrifice.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit." - John 12:24.
It took less than ten seconds for Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt to cover the one hundred meter distance on the Olympic track during the 2008 Beijing Olympics, he also repeated the same feat and won the gold medal in London 2012. Those few seconds cemented his status as the “fastest man alive” and placed him on the winner’s podium once again. But the race was not won in those seconds. It was won by hours and hours of practice, workouts, weightlifting, special diet, and coaching. The race was not won in the performance but in the preparation. It is our desire for something greater that causes us to sacrifice some things, even some good things, for the sake of things that are better. You must master and understand the principles and power behind sacrifice in winning in everything you do. True sacrifice isn't just giving up something you don't need; it is giving up something you value deeply for the benefit of another. It requires a personal cost.
Sacrifice isn't about the size of the gift, it’s about the cost to the giver. In Mark 12:41-44, Jesus observed wealthy people putting large sums of money into the temple treasury. Then, a poor widow came by and dropped in two tiny copper coins. Jesus told His disciples that this widow had put in more than all the others combined. The rich gave out of their wealth—money they wouldn't miss. But she gave out of her poverty, sacrificing everything she had to live on. True sacrifice is measured by what you have left after you give. To fully grasp the gravity of sacrifice, it helps to look at the Old Testament system. In ancient times, the worshipper would bring a spotless, unblemished animal to the altar and place their hands firmly on the animal’s head. This physical act symbolized a transfer: placing their own sins, guilt, and the penalty of death onto the innocent creature. The animal was a substitute for taking the punishment the human deserved.
Destiny is not realized through wishes; it requires intentional sacrifice. To reach your fullest potential, you must surrender short-term comforts for long-term rewards like the story of the athlete we just spoke about Usain Bolt. Destiny requires divine intervention. Sacrificing your time, resources, or comfort creates a spiritual covenant that provokes God's attention and invites supernatural favour into your life and endeavors. You cannot fulfill a great destiny with a disciplined, undisciplined mindset. Making a daily sacrifice of your fleshly desires—such as overcoming procrastination and dedicating time to personal growth—transforms your mind to handle higher levels of success. True success demands that you abandon selfish ambitions and invest in a larger purpose. Just as a seed must be buried to yield a harvest, your willingness to let go of temporary gratification is what ultimately births generational impact and a lasting legacy. Selah.
