The Wisdom And Power Of Positive Living.

“The good person out of the good treasury of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasury produces evil, for his mouth speaks from what fills his heart.” Prov. 6:45.
Henry Blackaby (April 15, 1935 – February 10, 2024) was a Canadian-born Southern Baptist pastor, author, and teacher best known for developing the internationally acclaimed Bible study "Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing the Will of God". He is the founder of Blackaby Ministries International, he once observed: “Optimists don’t ignore the difficulties… but the knowledge of God’s presence prevents them from becoming discouraged.” The truth is that, if you really know who you are and who God is, It’s impossible to stand in his presence and be a pessimist. If we focus on our problems they’ll seem gigantic. But as we focus on God we see our situation in perspective and are assured that all things are possible.’ It is not just positive thinking. It is positive thinking coupled with positive action that counts. Some people simply overdose on the positive thinking stuff, falsely believing that a positive mental attitude will create miracles. Like the optimist who fell off the top of a multi-storey building: as he passed by each floor he was heard saying, “So far so good until he eventually fell off!”
Our Bible teaches that positive, God-centered thinking is a foundational, active process that directly shapes a person's character, speech, and behavior, ultimately leading to positive actions. Biblical "positive thinking" is not mere optimism or denial of reality; it is the deliberate choice to align one's mind with God's truth, promises, and goodness, which subsequently transforms actions.
Living a positive life improves both physical and mental health, fosters resilience against challenges, and boosts overall productivity. By adopting a positive mindset, you can lower stress, build better relationships, and increase your longevity. Positive thinking is linked to lower blood pressure, reduced cardiovascular disease, better stress management, and a stronger immune system. Studies have shown that optimists may even live longer.
A positive outlook helps you bounce back from setbacks, trauma, and adversity. Instead of focusing on the problem, you are more likely to find solutions, stay motivated, and adapt to change. It reduces negative self-talk, which lowers rates of depression and anxiety. Positive people are generally more empathetic, supportive, and likable. This attracts positive experiences and fosters healthier, more meaningful connections with others. God wants you to choose your battles, don't choose negative self image irrespective of what you are going through, God is faithful, choose joy, choose to remain excited. Selah!
