Transform Your Thinking.

“to be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and to put on the new man who has been created in God’s image – in righteousness and holiness that comes from truth.” Eph. 4:23-24.
There is a story told of two friends, a chicken and a pig, who stepped out to try and make a difference in life. As they walked down the street they passed a cafeteria and in the window was a large sign that read, “HAM & EGGS sold here.” The chicken turned to the pig and said, “Let’s go inside and make a contribution, we both have what it takes to give support to this business” But the pig shook his head and replied, “It’s easy enough for you to make a contribution but not for me. For you, with a commitment to laying an egg you will provide eggs. But for me, I will have to lay down my life to provide meat for ham. Yours is commitment, mine is sacrifice.” – It’s the same when making an effort: Sometimes effort means more than just making a contribution through commitment, at other times, we must be willing to make sacrifices too. Nothing advances destiny beyond commitment and sacrifice.
Are you ready for the sacrifice that can move your life to the next level? It may involve challenging and changing your internal language, because words have power, especially the ones we say to ourselves. If you catch yourself saying, “I can’t do this,” or “I’m not good enough,” stop and reframe those thoughts. It's not that you can’t be good at something; it’s often that you don’t have the will to do it – and that’s okay! Changing your internal language can be a game-changer. Instead of saying, “I’m not good at this,” try, “I’m not good at this yet, but I’m willing to learn.” Shifting your mindset from fixed to growth is a powerful way to start breaking down those mental barriers. A fixed mindset says, no way, it's impossible. The growth mindset says, "I can do it, if I get enough training.” No doubt, you are on course to achieve becoming a better you.
Perhaps, I need to say this again, too many Christians want change and turn around to happen within the armbit of their comfort zone. Hear me out, real lasting change and growth will move you out of your comfort zone. If you’re holding back change because it feels difficult or unfamiliar, that’s a sign you’re on the right path. Don't worry, lean into that discomfort. The more you push yourself into new experiences, the more you’ll begin to see what you’re truly capable of. We often spend too much time worrying about things beyond our control. Don’t focus on what you don’t have. Focus on what you do have or what you are willing to have and lay down to become and achieve your dream. Hear me out one more time, that dream is possible if only you are ready and available to pay every price to become and achieve it. Selah!
