Under The Influence Of The Spirit.

“At once the Spirit drove Jesus into the wilderness, and He was there for forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and the angels ministered to Him.” Mark. 1:12-13.

Take an ordinary hand glove and lay it flat on the pulpit. Ask the congregation, "Can this glove pick up a Bible? Can it write a letter? Can it tie a shoe?" Left to itself, the glove is completely lifeless, limp, and powerless. It has no ability to do anything. But the moment a hand slips inside the glove, the glove comes alive. It can pick up the Bible, write, and move—not because the glove has suddenly gained its own independent power, but because the hand is filling, moving, and controlling it from the inside. Many christians often try to live the Christian life in their own strength, acting like an empty glove trying hard to move itself.

Being controlled by the Holy Spirit is not about us straining to do God’s work; it is letting Christ’s hand fill our weakness so His life and power animate our actions. Unusual results begin when you stop relying on your own intellect and hand the controls of your life over to God. Yielding your thoughts, desires, and physical strength to the Holy Spirit allows Him to direct your steps away from failure and toward divine success. A mind controlled by human nature leads to spiritual death, but a mind animated by the Spirit brings vibrant life and peace.

Operating under your own strength guarantees fatigue and average outcomes, but the Spirit of God provides an inner quickening that defies natural limitations. When you feel drained or incapable, the Holy Spirit animates your physical body and mind, giving you the stamina and capacity to achieve monumental tasks. He infuses your natural weaknesses with His resurrection power. Human education and experience can only take you so far, but the Spirit of God searches the deep, hidden things of God to reveal them to you. When He controls your mind, He grants you access to supernatural insights. Wouldn't you rather live based on the Spirit and His control? Selah!
