Unlocking The Power Of Grace.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Eph. 2:8-9. 

In the world of the New Testament, the Roman Empire was a society built on something called patronage. It was all about status, loyalty, and power. If you wanted to get ahead in life, you needed a patron—a wealthy, powerful person who could open doors for you. But it came at a price. You had to constantly prove your loyalty. Show up at their home every morning. Sing their praises in public. Support their interests. If you failed to honour them, the favour could be withdrawn. And here’s the key: you had to earn their approval. Nothing was free. Even a “gift” came with strings attached. Now picture this: into that world steps a message so radical, so upside-down, it turned everything on its head. It was the message of salvation through grace.

That’s not how the Roman world worked. God didn’t say, “Perform well and I’ll bless you.” He said, “You’re dead in your sins—and I’m coming to raise you to life, just because I love you.” It wasn’t patronage. It was pure grace. In a culture where everything was transactional, where every favour had a cost, the gospel offered something scandalously different. Salvation that couldn’t be bought and didn’t have to be earned. It offers unconditional love, worth, and salvation as free gifts, completely bypassing merit, performance, and "if-then" deals. While society functions on earning, meritocracy, and cause-and-effect, grace demands the surrender of self-effort, making it difficult for people to accept they are already chosen rather than needing to prove it. 

The message of grace is the profound mystery of unmerited favour, providing God's love to humanity without regard to merit or effort. It is a transformative, freely given gift that meets individuals where they are, sustaining them through saving, sanctifying, and serving power. The beauty of grace lies in its ability to reconcile, bringing hope and freedom to the undeserving. A life of grace provides a divine advantage, acting as a lifting power that enables supernatural ease, favour, and accelerated progress beyond human ability. It brings acceptance, honour, and dignity, attracting right opportunities while setting you apart for excellence. Grace also grants the ability to overcome adversity, ensuring continuous growth and success. I will over and over again choose the grace that chose me. Selah!
