"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" Eph. 2:10.
Charles Francis Adams, the 19th century political figure and diplomat, keeps a regular diary of his daily activities. One day he went fishing with his son. He wrote in his diary something like: "Went fishing with my son today--a day wasted." His son, Brook Adams, also keeps a daily inventory of his activities. So he entered into his own diary, on that same day, Brook Adams made this entry: "Went fishing with my father--the most wonderful day of my life!" The father thought he was wasting his time while fishing with his son, but his son saw it as an investment of time. The only way to tell the difference between wasting and investing is to know one's ultimate purpose in life and to judge accordingly.
Walking in your ultimate purpose must involve aligning your life with your divine calling through a journey of self-discovery, faith, and action. Many so-called believers don't know themselves and their capabilities. It becomes imperative that you know who exactly you are in Christ. This is a process of fully committing to and using your unique gifts and talents to fulfill a greater plan, which brings a sense of peace, fulfillment, and impact on others. It requires trusting in God's higher guidance, overcoming obstacles, and continuously developing the skills necessary for your specific path.
Walking in your ultimate purpose, provides a sense of security, knowing you are not an accident, and that you have divine support in doing whatever you are doing. God is not the author of mediocrity, walking with Him eliminates mediocrity and procrastination, creating focus and urgency. God’s purpose makes you live a life of intention, making a lasting impact. Some people are satisfied just roaming through life, without any serious sense of purpose and intentionality. You must be prepared to step outside your comfort zone, as purpose often involves facing challenges and moving forward with confidence despite circumstances. As you walk your path, you can uplift and inspire others, creating a positive ripple effect in the lives of all who see and observe you. Selah!
