“knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” – James. 1:3-4
In May of 2001, Erik Weihenmayer accomplished something that only about 150 people per year do—reaching the top of Mount Everest. The thing that made Erik’s achievement unusual is that he is the first blind person to succeed in scaling the tallest mountain in the world. Erik was born with a disease called retinoschisis, and by the time he was thirteen he was completely blind. Rather than focus on what he could not do, he made the choice to focus on what he could do and went much further than almost anyone expected. Certain possibilities exist inside of us if we are willing to concentrate and give it all it deserves.
Have you ever been in a situation that left you feeling hopeless and stressed out? Wondering if things will ever change? Has there ever been a time when you felt so stuck that you couldn’t find a way to pull yourself out? That no matter what you tried, other factors kept getting thrown at you, keeping you in that same place? Hear me out, impossibility is nothing. There are two types of people who conquer impossibility. God and those who believe. No matter what you are dealing with, arm yourself with the appropriate tool of faith and consistency, you will scale your height and conquer your impossibility.
Obstacles are inevitable; they will always be part of the Christian walk. However, it doesn’t mean that we have to face them on our own or overcome them in our own strength. But obstacles aren’t necessarily bad things! God can use them to grow us up in our faith and teach us how to depend on Him in our everyday lives. God never promised us an easy life, but He did promise us that He will always be there for us and never leave us nor forsake us. We can trust our covenant keeping God to guide us through the darkest valleys of our lives. He will keep you in perfect peace and bring you to your place of testimony if you keep faith.
